The Studer D950 MKII console in Audio "B" at the Disney /MGM studios. The on board digital compressors produce a musically smooth compression without all the pumping found in some outboard compressors.

Jerry Jerome "Something Blue" :Recorded at Audio Images, Bradenton, Fl. by Gary Baldassari using a wide assortment of DPA microphones except for a Neumann M149 for the vocals. The session was tracked to a Studer A80 24 track on GP9 tape. The mix was done in Audio B at the Disney/MGM studios. The mix goal that Gary B. had was to combine the best of analog and digital. In this case the 24 track master tapes were played off of an Otari MTR100 thru the Studer D950 24 bit A to D converters. I assisted Gary B. with the automation and interfacing the TC Electronics M5000 and DB Max via AES. Mix notes and approvals were accomplished by Jerry using his Cadillac sound system while driving around. Jerry's mix critique was right on the money. The polished mix was then handed off to Bryan Shaw/Digital Bros. inc for Mastering. The finished CD is easy to listen to with no harsh digital artifacts.
