Photo below of Orange County Board of County Commissioners Chambers.4 Tannoy I8AWs were flown, 2 for foldback and 2 for the citizens seating area. 14 EV Polar Choice 18" microphones were installed replacing very poor sounding 6" AKG gooseneck mics. Between the Tannoy I8AWs and the EV PolarChoice mics along with a Midas Venice 320 32 channel console the sound quality was dramitically improved for reinforcement and for Orange TVs On Air sound.

Photo at left of Midas Venice 320 installation in the chambers. The Midas 32 channel console replaced a Peavey MediaMatrix X Frame system.

The Peavey sounded terrible, the automatic gates cut words off violating the Sunshine Law, the controllers ran at 32KHZ and is a great example of bad digital audio. Why would anyone install a Peavey MediaMatrix in serious audio installations is beyond me. The Peavey might be good for a bus terminal paging system and thats about all !
